We love running a dive centre in the best cave diving destination on earth. We look forward to giving our guests the best possible experience in this incredible environment.

Lanny Vogel

Lanny has been diving for nearly thirty years and first qualified as a technical instructor in 2005. He specialises in cave, technical and rebreather training in the beautiful Mexican caves and is currently an instructor trainer with SSI and NSS-CDS, and an instructor with TDI/SDI, IANTD and BSAC. He is also a member of the Human Diver instructor team, drawing on experience from cave diving, mountaineering and some interesting risk management and strategic planning roles. He volunteers with the CREER line and safety committee, and the cave rescue team. Before diving full time, he was a Commander in the Royal Navy with service in submarines, surface ships and on land operations in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Claire Vogel

Claire started diving in 2005 whilst enjoying a successful career as a Logistics Officer in the Royal Navy. In 2014 she retired from the military to become a business owner and Introductory Cave Diving instructor in the beautiful town of Tulum. She can usually be found managing the dive business and Underworld apartments, although most of her time seems to be spent looking after our many foster dogs, pet menagerie and doggy outreach work. Itโ€™s hard to get through a day in the neighbourhood without stopping to feed a dog or three along the way!

Shannon Hannan

Shannon grew up in a small town in northern Ontario, and from childhood had an affinity for wildlife and the great outdoors. Her Bachelors Degree in Bio-Resource Management instilled a desire to travel and see the world. It was on her travels through Southeast Asia that Shannon fell in love with scuba diving in Thailand. Within her first year as a diver, she had already started technical decompression diving, cave diving, and became an Open Water Instructor. After enjoying the warm waters of Thailand and the colder waters of Vancouver, she moved to Mexico where she continued her love of cave diving. By diving with multiple agencies of TDI, GUE and IANTD, she is now a Full Cave instructor with SSI, NSS-CDS, TDI and IANTD, a Gemini and SF2 CCR diver and still spends almost every day off in the caves.

Rescue Dogs and Cats

There are a lot of maltreated animals in Mexico, and we are heavily involved in dog rescue through local animal rescue charities. As well as our permanently resident dogs and cats, we have a number of short and long-term foster puppies and older dogs that need our help to get well and find a permanent home. All our animals are very good natured and appreciate a stroke or a belly rub!
